FEED ME

BREAD PLATTER EXPOSÉ

This project was based on experimentation using the mix of food and art. The bread platter explores the connection between sight, taste and emotion. Although sight is not necessarily a part of taste, it does have an influence on the perception. How we feel about the shape and how it may look actually determines whether we dislike the specific food. There is such a significant role that it can even “trick your tongue and nose” (Terry Acree). The platter presents a collection of breads sculpted into the shapes of body parts before baked. It is made to look majestic and calm. While the distinctive shapes of the bread creates just a small feeling of uncertainty and discomfort.
